Carlos Rodon's 2025 Season: Pitching Through Pain, Surgery, and Comeback | Yankees Star's Journey (2026)

Hurting Yankees star Carlos Rodon couldn't even button his shirt during his standout 2025 season, but he kept pitching through elbow discomfort caused by a bone spur and loose bodies. Despite his struggles, he still managed to rack up a lot of wins and pitch very well all season. After the Yankees were eliminated from the playoffs, he and the team made a quick decision to get the bone spur and loose bodies removed in an arthroscopic surgery. Almost four months later, Rodon's rehabbing is progressing well, and he's already throwing bullpens. While he won't be ready for the Yankees' late-March season-opening series in San Francisco, a return sometime in April is a possibility. Rodon is determined to make a full recovery and ensure he doesn't return too quickly, but he's also thrilled to have a healthy elbow again after last season's mental and physical struggle. He's working on dropping a few pounds and getting back to his best form, hoping to return sooner rather than later.
